Zaf Goss has spent his entire legal career representing policyholders in first-party property insurance disputes.

A Florida native from Clearwater, Zaf has represented homeowners whose insurance claims were denied, delayed, or underpaid since he began practicing law in 2016. Over the course of his career, he has helped lead and develop first-party property practices at multiple law firms, building teams and litigation strategies around one goal: holding insurance companies to the coverage promised by their policies.

Today, Zaf dedicates his practice to representing homeowners and property owners in disputes with their insurance companies. He handles claims involving denied coverage, underpayment, delay, storm damage, water losses, roof claims, and other first-party property disputes.

Within the firm, Zaf plays a central role in litigation strategy. He works closely with the firm’s attorneys to evaluate cases, identify the issues that matter most, develop the evidence needed to support the claim, and determine how each matter should move forward. His approach is practical and litigation-focused: understand the policy, understand the insurance company’s position, build the record, and be prepared to prove the case.

Zaf is a “Double Gator,” earning both his undergraduate degree and law degree from the University of Florida. He received his J.D. from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law.

How Zaf Approaches a Case

Start with the insurance company’s position. Understand exactly why the claim was denied, delayed, or underpaid before deciding how to challenge it.
Build the evidence around the real dispute. Focus the case on the policy language, facts, expert opinions, estimates, and testimony that will actually determine the outcome.
Prepare for litigation from the beginning. A strong claim should be organized and documented with the expectation that it may eventually need to be proven in court.
